Chicago Bulls: Trading for Jaden Ivey

B/R also listed Jaden Ivey as a possible trade target for the Bulls, something that has been mentioned a lot in the past when the Pistons were connected to Zach LaVine in trade rumors.

On paper, Ball is a better fit with Cunningham than Ivey, but after what we saw from Ivey in the first preseason game, it’s hard to imagine the Pistons giving up on him.

That was just one preseason game, so Ivey has to show that he can play efficiently on offense on a consistent basis. It would also be nice to see him make some strides on defense. He did have a nice block in the game vs. Milwaukee but he was also out of position a lot, something that has been his trademark on defense.

If the Pistons aren’t convinced Ivey is the answer, trading him before he is extension eligible this summer makes sense, but they are definitely going to give him every opportunity to prove himself, as he has shown signs of possible stardom and the Pistons can’t send that to a division rival.

But if both teams are struggling at the deadline, sending Ivey to the Bulls for Ball and a first-round pick could be a possibility.

It’s too early to know who will be on the trade block for either team, but as of now, both are hoping their guards work out and will give them a chance to prove they can be long-term pieces.
