Just because the Detroit Pistons haven't made a splash yet this summer doesn't mean that they won't before the regular season comes around.
The Milwaukee Bucks traded for Damian Lillard in September, the Boston Celtics landed Jrue Holiday in October, and the New York Knicks acquired Karl-Anthony Towns three weeks before the regular season opener.
Trajan Langdon still has plenty of time to find Cade Cunningham a reliable running mate, and with the latest report from NBA Insider Chris Haynes, one target could become available sooner rather than later.
Nets could trade Michael Porter Jr. if extension talks stall
According to Haynes, if the Brooklyn Nets aren't willing to negotiate an extension for Michael Porter Jr., the Missouri product could be the next big name to be on the move.

Porter Jr. was one of the biggest breakout players last season for the Nets, but because of the team's underwhelming season, his career year wasn't talked about much.
In his first season after being traded from the Denver Nuggets, where he spent his career as the third option to Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic, Porter Jr. emerged as a reliable top option, averaging 24.2 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists on 46.3% shooting from the field and 36.3% from three.
At 28, the former first-round pick still has plenty of upside entering his prime, and his offensive skillset would make him the perfect player to pair alongside Cunningham for the future.
Brooklyn hasn't ruled out an extension, but the team also hasn't shown any urgency to get a deal done, which makes some sense given the young talent on the roster featuring former top 10 pick Egor Demin and their latest lottery score, Mikel Brown Jr.
If the Nets do opt to test the trade market for Porter Jr., the Pistons should be one of the first teams to call, not only because of the ideal pairing between Cunningham and the forward heading into the future, but because of the names moves this offseason, the price point could be the lowest for Porter Jr.
Not to mention, if the saga between Jalen Duren and the Pistons continues to stretch out, Brooklyn could be viewed as a potential sign-and-trade suitor for the big man, given his age and the hole in the frontcourt after moving on from Nic Claxton.
Detroit should continue monitoring several names around the league, but of the potential players to shake loose, Porter Jr. may be the best.
