The Detroit Pistons started their 2024-25 campaign on a positive note with a blowout win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

There was plenty to like, including the play of rookie Ron Holland II and the offensive efficiency of Jaden Ivey.

Veteran Malik Beasley made his presence felt as a shooter and mentor and the Pistons hope to keep things rolling tonight at home against the Suns.

These are just preseason games of course, but with a brutal early schedule awaiting them once the regular season starts, it would be good for the Pistons to build some confidence before the games get real.

Here is all the information you need.

Pistons injuries vs. Suns

The Pistons were missing Ausar Thompson, Tobias Harris and Bobi Klintman in the first game and all three are listed as day-to-day for tonight’s game with the Suns.

Thompson still hasn’t been cleared for live action, so he will not be playing tonight. Harris is recovering from an illness, so he could return and Klintman from a right calf contusion that he suffered during training camp.

It would be nice to get them all back before the regular season, as the Pistons are trying to integrate plenty of new faces into the rotation and need as many reps as possible.

How to watch Pistons vs. Suns

The game will be broadcast on Bally Sports Detroit if you have cable, or you can listen on 97.1 FM the Ticket.

You can also stream the game on NBA League Pass if you are a subscriber and out of market or check out a free trial at FuboTV.

There are also options to explore such as Hulu + Live TV and YouTube TV if you pay for those services. Some regular season games will also be aired on Amazon, but the full broadcast schedule has yet to be released even though we are only a couple of weeks from the regular season.

Biggest storylines in Pistons vs. Suns

I will be looking for consistency on the defensive end, which was completely lacking last season. Coach Bickerstaff is clearly trying to build a defensive identity and the Pistons were much better from the 2nd quarter forward against the Bucks, but can they bring it for a full game tonight against another high-powered offense?

I will also be watching rookie Ron Holland II, as he had a really nice game defensively and on the boards against Milwaukee and is making a case for himself in the starting five while Ausar Thompson is out.

Hopefully, we will see the return of Tobias Harris to add some more stability to the rotation, and I’d love to see Cade Cunningham stop dribbling so much and knock down a few shots around the rim to get his confidence up.

The Pistons will play two preseason games in a row against the Suns, so much like the start of the regular season, the Pistons are being tested right away.
