At this point, everyone knows that the Milwaukee Bucks are open for business, at least in terms of moving on from two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The sweepstakes for the Greek Freak seems to be a two-team race between the Miami Heat and the Portland Trail Blazers, according to NBA Insider Marc Stein, and while the Detroit Pistons may not be involved in the blockbuster talks, it could present them with the perfect opportunity to land an ideal offseason addition.

With no Giannis, it feels almost certain that the Bucks are headed towards a rebuild, and even if that's not the case, they're at least heading for a retool.

As a result, Milwaukee is almost certainly going to field offers on players who no longer fit their timeline or long-term plans.

Of those players who could be on their way out, Bobby Portis emerges as a player who could be the perfect addition to J.B. Bickerstaff's squad.

Bobby Portis embodies what the Pistons need

Portis has become one of the best bench contributors in the league over the last couple of seasons, averaging 13+ points per game in each of the five seasons in Milwaukee.

The 31-year-old is a tough player who competes with an extra sense of grit that tends to make things muddy on the court, but in a good way.

Portis isn't scared to do the dirty work, and he plays the role of an instigator perfectly, which is exactly the type of player the Pistons need.

The former first-round pick brings the exact intensity that fits the ideal mold to suit up in Detroit, and what he offers on the offensive end could provide the exact boost the Pistons have been searching for off the bench over the last couple of years.

And to make things even better, it won't cost the Pistons much at all to land the big man.

The Bucks are more willing to deal Portis than they've ever been

Portis is a glue guy, and for years, it seemed like any possibility that Milwaukee would move on from the Arkansas product was slim to none, and understandably so.

With Antetokounmpo on his way out, the Bucks are simply looking for future assets and financial flexibility to recover quickly and return to the top of the East sooner rather than later.

Whether the Pistons get involved in the Giannis sweepstakes to simply help facilitate a deal or they reach out seperately, Detroit very well could be an ideal fit for Portis, and it could come at a discounted price, at least in comparison to years past.
