#8: Kyle Kuzma

You can say most of the things about Kuzma that you can say about Grant, in that he’s not really needed now that the Pistons have Harris.

Kuzma is more appealing than Grant because he’s on a team-friendly deal that goes down over the next two seasons after this one.

The Pistons are eventually going to need a four who defends and shoots long-range shots at a higher level and Kuzma isn’t really that guy.

#7: Jarrett Allen

On paper, this doesn’t look like a fit, as the Pistons already have three centers. But as we saw against Indiana, Jalen Duren is still a long way from where the Pistons need to be defensively.

A rim protector like Allen would be a better fit, especially now that the offense has more space and the coach isn’t trying to play two non-shooting bigs.

Trajan Langdon was also the guy who drafted Allen, so I wouldn’t completely rule this one out. If Duren doesn’t continue to improve defensively, the Pistons could move him before he is extension eligible and look for a better rim protector or someone who can spread the floor.

I hope Duren was paying attention to Myles Turner in game one, as he affected nearly every shot at the rim, which is what the Pistons need out of Duren. The young center is going to get time, and he has so many other talents that Detroit can’t just give up on him, but he has to be better defensively, it’s that simple.

Allen is one to keep an eye on, as the Cavs know they can’t run two bigs in the playoffs again and expect a different result.
