The Detroit Pistons hole has officially been dug deeper after they fell to the Orlando Magic 113-105 in Game 3.
Detroit now finds themselves at risk of falling down 3-1 with another road game against the Magic on Monday if the team can't turn things around, and based on what the Pistons showcased in the loss, there are no signs of optimism that J.B. Bickerstaff's squad will find an answer for their problems anytime soon.
The Pistons have been outhustled, outperformed, and outschemed, and until the supporting cast shows signs of life to help out star guard Cade Cunningham, it's hard to find confidence in the team's chances to escape the position they find themselves in.
After searching for every reason to keep the fanbase calm, it's officially time to hit the panic button.
Cade Cunningham has nobody to rely on
Cunningham has been the driving force for the reason each loss to Orlando has come by single digits, and outside of a couple of solid nights from Tobias Harris, the team has struggled immensely to find a reliable hand outside of the Oklahoma State product.
Jalen Duren's struggles have continued, and despite the big man vowing to be better for his teammates, it seems that the outside noise about the Pistons' lack of a No. 2 scoring option has been proven right.
With Duren struggling, the struggle to trust Harris and abysmal bench performances persisting, Detroit finds themselves in a tough spot, especially if they don't make adjustments.
At the same time, even a starting lineup adjustment may not be enough to answer their biggest concerns if they continue to be dominated at their own game.
Pistons are being bullied by the Magic
Jamahl Mosley's squad set the tone in this series in Game 1, proving that they're ready for the physical challenge of the playoffs.
Orlando has played as one unit on both sides of the floor, and through three games, Orlando has bullied Detroit in both wins.
Duren has been extremely limited in the post, Cunningham has been forced to work for every bucket and the Magic have absolutely stalled out the Pistons' bench unit offensively.
Beyond that, Orlando has forced Detroit to turn the ball over and commit lazy fouls that have made it extremely hard for the Motor City squad to find any momentum.
The Pistons have yet to win a clutch game in this series and if they don't prove they can soon, Trajan Langdon and company will be back to the drawing board before we know it.
