2024 NBA Mock Draft: Pistons go against grain, Spurs get Wembanyama help

#9: Memphis Grizzlies select Stephon Castle 

Castle is probably the best player left here, and considering the Grizzlies are a good team that was just undone by injuries this season, it makes sense for them to just take the bpa. 

Castle is also a fit, as he can slide in between Morant and Bane or play off the bench with either of them. 

He is insurance against another Morant injury, as he could play the point in a pinch, but is also a nice fit alongside him as a guy who could be an elite defender on the perimeter and cover some of Morant’s weaknesses there. 

He’s ready to play now and just came off winning a national championship. He’s also a tough and gritty player the Memphis fans would love and fits right into their culture.
