4. The Memphis Grizzlies select Donovan Clingan

The Grizzlies just lean into defense here and add another elite defender to pair with Jaren Jackson Jr., giving them one of the best rim-protecting frontcourts in the NBA.

Clingan could take on all of the dirty work and allow JJJ more freedom to roam on both ends or could play as his backup if the Grizzlies wanted to go smaller with JJJ at the five.

Clingan helped himself with a big tournament run, but given the league’s current affinity for bigs who can protect the rim, he’s as safe a bet as you are going to find in this draft.
