#1: Are the Pistons building their own Herb Jones?

Ron Holland II led the Pistons in scoring even though he didn’t shoot the ball well.

But he showed how he can get minutes next season, which is with his energy and defense. I was impressed with Holland’s motor throughout Summer League, as he never stops moving and is far more advance on defense than on the other end.

Though the two are different players, he reminds me a bit of another Trajan Langdon pick Herb Jones, who was immediately able to make an impact with his defense and energy for the Pelicans, who didn’t ask him to do much offensively right away.

Holland can be this type of player for the Pistons, coming off the bench and getting after it defensively without having to take many shots outside of cuts and transition. That may not scream superstar, but that’s the base Holland needs to grow from while adding nuance to his game each offseason, much like the guy he models his game after, Jaylen Brown.
