The Detroit Pistons 2024-25 schedule has been released, meaning the next season is now right around the corner.

Detroit starts the season off as though they angered the schedule makers with their first six games against championship contenders. Schedule aside, though, now that we are less than two months from tip-off, let’s take a look at season bets related to the Detroit Pistons.

Jalen Duren over/under 11.3 Rebounds Per Game (-115): Over

Last season, Jalen Duren averaged 13.8 points to go along with 11.6 rebounds. That was an impressive jump from his rookie numbers of 9.1 and 8.9 two seasons ago. This was expected, as Detroit had selected Duren based on the insane upside that the young big man out of Memphis had.

Now, Vegas has Jalen Duren taking a slight step backwards and averaging fewer rebounds per game. I think that talent and ability-wise, Duren will in no way take a step backwards. He will have a better team around him, allowing him to focus more so on what makes him a walking double-double.

The only hesitancy I have is that exact same reason. There are more mouths to feed, both scoring and rebounding-wise. Suddenly, Duren will likely have to fight with Ausar Thompson, Ron Holland, Isaiah Stewart and to some extent, Tobias Harris and Simone Fontecchio for rebounds.

I assume this is the exact reason that Vegas has brought his total per game down, but I’m still banking on Duren being huge on the boards. I’m taking the over on this one.
