The Detroit Pistons and Milwaukee Bucks played a fast-paced, high-scoring affair on Saturday afternoon, combining for 277 points in a 141-136 win for Milwaukee.
The teams are back in action on Monday in Detroit, and we could be getting another OVER bettors dream if these teams play at a similar pace.
I don’t want to take a stab at a total that is nearing 250 points, but I do think this matchup gives us a few opportunities in the prop market. There are a couple of OVERs that I like, as well as one Pistons player that we should fade on Jan. 22.

Here are my three favorite prop bets for the Bucks-Pistons divisional battle:
Bucks vs. Pistons best NBA prop bets
- Jalen Duren to record a double-double
- Malik Beasley OVER 10.5 points
- Killian Hayes UNDER 8.5 rebounds and assists
Jalen Duren to record a double-double
Since returning from an injury, Jalen Duren has been straight-up awesome for the Pistons. He’s picked up a double-double in 10 of his 13 games over that stretch, although he finished with just eight points and nine boards on Saturday.
A big reason why? Duren had five fouls against the Bucks, which limited his time on the floor to just over 30 minutes. I think the young center could be in a much better position to record a double-double tonight if he can avoid the fouls.
Duren is averaging 14.0 points and 11.4 rebounds per game on the season, and he’s been a beast on the glass, averaging 18.5 rebounding chances per game this season.
With the Bucks loving to push the ball, I think Duren gets back on track with a double-double tonight.
Malik Beasley OVER 10.5 points
Malik Beasley has been hot as of late for the Bucks, clearing 10.5 points in his last game on just nine shots and posting at least 11 points in five of his last six contests.
Detroit is one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA – especially from beyond the arc. The Pistons rank 27th in the NBA in opponent 3-point percentage and 30th in defensive rating, a positive sign for this Bucks offense.
If Beasley continues to get around double-digit shots – he’s taken eight or more in five of his last six – he’s a great bet to go OVER this number. The Bucks guard has cleared 10.5 points in 22 of the 27 games that he’s attempted at least eight shots this season.
Killian Hayes UNDER 8.5 rebounds and assists
I’m fading Killian Hayes in this game, as he’s seen his minutes decrease for the Pistons, especially with Alec Burks lighting things up off the bench for the team.
Hayes is a solid passer (averaging 4.9 assists per game), but he’s cleared this assists and rebounds prop five times since returning from a four-game absence on Dec. 28.
During the 2023-24 season, Hayes has gone OVER 8.5 rebounds and assists in 15 of his 37 games. I don’t think he does against this Bucks team after recording one board and six dimes on Saturday.
Hayes’ rebounding has been down as of late, averaging just 2.2 rebounds per game on 3.4 rebound chances in his last 12 contests. Unless he has a big assist night, it’s going to be tough for Hayes to clear this prop.
