Fans of the Detroit Pistons have had little to do this season other than watch the team lose and dream of a future when things are different.

This is another crucial offseason for the Pistons, who will not only have to remake their roster again with at least six open spots, but could be looking at a front-office shakeup as well, though so far there is no evidence of that.

The Pistons will have likely suffered through two of the worst three seasons in franchise history after this one is over, as they only won 17 games last season and aren't even going to reach that pathetic mark in this one, so you'd think wholesale change is on the table.

The Detroit Pistons making trades

We can dream about big trades that land the Pistons a star, but recognize the reality that it won't be easy to pull off. The Pistons have cap space, but lack draft assets to swing for the fences.

But there are smaller deals out there to be made that could still improve the team. One team to monitor is the Chicago Bulls, who are in an interesting position heading into this offseason.

You can never count on the Bulls to do anything, as they haven't made a trade in three years and seem content to eek their way into the play-in every season. They could re-sign DeMar DeRozan, get Lonzo Ball and Zach LaVine back and hope that is enough to make them competitive.

Or they could decide to let DeRozan walk (or work some kind of sign-and-trade) and start selling off parts for a rebuild. If so, they have a couple of players who might interest the Pistons.
