The first day of NBA free agency is in the books, and in their typical fashion, the Detroit Pistons didn’t do anything other than ink Cade Cunningham to a max extension.

Their quiet day wasn’t completely unexpected, as Trajan Langdon has made it clear that he’s more interested in renting his cap space for assets than trying to use it on players who might move the needle in the short term.

We came up with 10 contracts the Pistons might target before free agency started and they have already landed one of them, taking on Tim Hardaway Jr. in exchange for second-round picks.

The Pistons will continue to search for good deals that can either net them a player they like or future draft assets. Here are four additional teams they could target.

New York Knicks

*Hartenstein has since signed with the OKC Thunder

The Pistons have reportedly been in discussions about Isaiah Hartenstein, who has several other suitors, including the OKC Thunder. The Knicks would love to keep him but are up against it financially after spending big in the offseason so far.

If they want to keep Hartenstein, they almost have to shed Mitchell Robinson’s deal, which isn’t bad and has two years remaining. He’s a rim protector and the Pistons might be able net an asset by eating his salary for New York.
