12 Pistons who are expendable 3 they can't afford to trade

The Detroit Pistons have hit a low point for the franchise and just about anything is on the table when it comes to how to fix it.

That would include making a big trade, though a quick scan around the league shows that there isn't much brewing at the moment, a situation that can and will change.

When you're the worst team in the NBA and riding the longest losing streak in franchise history, just about anyone is expendable, which is certainly the case for the Pistons, who have a slew of expiring contracts and players who may not fit the long-term plans of the team if such plans actually exist.

10 Pistons who are expendable

Whether it's because of contract issues or their fit with the core, any and all of these players are expendable when it comes to trades this season:

Monte Morris

He's on an expiring contract, hasn't played at all this season and may not be available until February. He should be back before the NBA trade deadline and I am sure there will be contenders calling, though the Pistons may prefer to re-sign Morris, who wants to be in Detroit and could help this team eventually.

Bojan Bogdanovic

They probably should have traded him last season, but Bogdanovic will be one of the hottest names at the trade deadline, and if I had to guess, will be traded to a contender. After this season, the Pistons would either have to pick up the team option on Bojan for $20 million or buy him out for $2 million and let him walk for nothing in free agency.

Isaiah Livers

In theory, he is what this team needs, but in practice, he's injured a lot and hasn't played well so far. They aren't going to get anything for him but Stanley Umude has been better, so why not give him a try?

Kevin Knox

Falls into the same category as Livers, as he likely does not have a long-term future with the team.

Joe Harris

The biggest mistake of the offseason is hurt, but was bad before then anyway. He has no trade value, so the Pistons are likely stuck with him unless they need his contract for a bigger trade.

James Wiseman

Pretty much the same as Harris. He has little trade value, so won't be moved unless they need his salary to match in a bigger deal.

Alec Burks

Burks, along with the rest of the bench, has been in a disturbing freefall. Hopefully, he'll come back and return to form, but right now he is out of the rotation. I can't imagine that will last unless he is hurt, as the Pistons need his shooting off the bench. He's also one of their best trade assets, so getting him healthy and producing is crucial. He's on an expiring deal, and it's hard to see Detroit bringing him back.

Marvin Bagley III

MBIII has been ok this season and at least he is healthy. But if there were some team out there that needed a bench center and had a comparable forward to trade, Bagley III is certainly expendable, though that contract still won't be easy to move.

Killian Hayes

This is mostly about contract, as Hayes is in the final year of his rookie deal. He's been decent this season, much more consistent and looks like he could finally be rounding into a backup point guard. Would the Pistons reconsider bringing him back? If not, he could be on the move too, which would help relieve their logjam of guards.

Marcus Sasser

Sasser has had a solid rookie season so far but has been up and down as you would expect from a young guard. I highly doubt the Pistons consider him trade bait, but in the right deal, he could definitely be had.

If you want to know why the Pistons are so bad, this list of players is a good start, as all but two of them would be traded without hesitation if the Pistons could even find a deal for them. Bogdanovic and Burks are once again the big trade assets, but I fear fans will not be happy with the return.

But they aren't the only ones who are expendable.
