Cheer for: A strong finish from Jaden Ivey

Even a strong finish can't undo what has been a disappointing season for Jaden Ivey. I don't put this all on the second-year guard, as he's not been given an established role and spent some of the season stupidly battling Killian Hayes for minutes, both huge tactical mistakes from coach Monty Williams.

But Ivey has been in an extended slump that has seen him shooting just 38 percent from the floor and 24 percent from long range over his last 20 games.

Whether you think Ivey is part of the future or trade bait, it would be nice for him to build confidence with some solid games to finish the season.

Cheer against: The Troy Weaver babysitter

There has been some talk among James Edwards III (Subscription) among others, that the Pistons might bring in a president who would be above Troy Weaver and have the final say in basketball moves.

Bad idea.

Part of the problem the Pistons have had is that they already have too many cooks in the kitchen, with Weaver hearing from Arn Tellem and Tom Gores before he's allowed to make a move.

Adding another layer between them isn't going to help anything and what are you saying to Troy Weaver? This would be a way to fire him without having to fire him, which would save Gores some money but isn't going to help an organization that already has leadership issues.

If the plan is to bring in yet another voice and keep all the ones they currently have, then they may as well just fire Weaver and get it over with.

So fans will do what we've done for the last several seasons, which is selectively cheer for players and hope the team loses enough for real change to be made.
