The Detroit Pistons haven't fared well in the real world, but how about in the fantasy world of video games?
The latest NBA 2K25 ratings are out and there were some interesting numbers for the Detroit Pistons.
Detroit Pistons NBA 2K25 ratings
Team: OVR 79
INS 74, OUT 79, ATH 80, PLA 69, DEF 61, REB 58, INT 48, POT 83
As a team, Detroit is rated higher than most would expect. After a 14 win season, to have an almost 80 rating doesn't quite add up, but it shows the improvements that Trajan Langdon made this offseason. The Pistons struggled from deep last year, but now have a 79 in outside scoring, a big leap from last season.
Defensively and rebounding-wise, 2K still expects them to struggle, which makes sense, but their potential is average to above average.
Guards
Cade Cunningham: OVR 86 (+2)
OUT 82, INS 71, DEF 66, ATH 82, PLAY 81, POT 89
Jaden Ivey: OVR 78 (-2)
OUT 76, INS 63, DEF 64, ATH 83, PLAY 83, POT 83
Malik Beasley: OVR 75
OUT 76, INS 62, DEF 53, ATH 78, PLAY 63, POT 78
Marcus Sasser: OVR 74 (+4)
OUT 81, INS 48, DEF 60, ATH 75, PLAY 75, POT 83
2K did a pretty accurate job in creating the Detroit Pistons guards. Throughout the entire group, the defense is consistently poor, which is realistic. Malik Beasley has a three-point shooting rating of 87, which easily puts him at the top of the roster.
Cade’s potential is obviously the highest at 89, which might be low if anything. He is tied with Franz Wagner and Evan Mobley with the best ratings from the 2021 Draft Class.
