The Detroit Pistons have lost an astounding 18 games in a row, which is not something I hoped to write in my lifetime.

They've lost to good teams, bad teams, teams without their best player, and in the case of Memphis last night, teams missing half of their roster to injuries and suspensions.

I keep talking myself into each game, that tonight will be the night, which I thought against Cleveland and again last night against a depleted Memphis team missing most of their best players.

The worst part is that it could get even worse.

If you take a quick look at the schedule, it's not clear where the next win is going to come from. Obviously, the Pistons will win again at some point this season (right?!?), as they will get hot or catch some team sleeping, but right now, it's hard to guess who that team is going to be.

Detroit Pistons schedule: When is the next win coming?

The all-time single-season losing streak in the NBA is 26 games, just eight away from where the Pistons are now. The worst part is that the schedule is not getting any easier, as the Pistons have the toughest remaining schedule in the NBA, though that's partly because they can't play themselves.

But back to the streak. The Pistons would need to lose nine more to break the record and here are their next nine games: @Orlando, vs. Indiana, vs. Philly, @Philly, @Milwaukee, @Atlanta, vs. Utah, @Brooklyn, vs. Brooklyn.

Orlando is definitely beatable, but they'll be eager to kick the Pistons' butt on their home court and show who the best young team is. Indiana could be tired from their run in the In-Season tournament. Atlanta is mediocre so the Pistons have a chance against them, though it's more likely that Saddiq Bey will score 50 and make us all sad. Utah is definitely beatable, as is Brooklyn.

So there is hope in the next nine games, but the Pistons will be underdogs in all of them, so there is no such thing as an easy win for Detroit. They are the easy win.

When your team is in a funk like this it seems like there is no way out of it, which is where we are with the Pistons.
