The Detroit Pistons are not trying to show off.
After getting a lone win to break their historic losing streak, the Pistons got right back to losing to keep themselves humble. They don't want winning to go to their heads after all.
That will likely continue tonight, as the Pistons take on the Denver Nuggets on the road. The Nuggets are on the second game of a back-to-back, which hasn't meant anything to the Pistons in terms of wins, but it might allow them to keep it close tonight in the Mile High City.
Pistons vs. Nuggets: Spread, over/under
The Pistons are 16.5-point underdogs tonight on the road, which is about as high as you will ever see a spread. Detroit has kept it close the last two games, including an overtime loss to Utah and a four-point defeat at the hands of Golden State.
The Pistons have been terrible in the clutch this season, so will need to hang close to have any chance of covering this spread.
The over/under is 236.5 combined points according to Fanduel, which seems high considering the two teams allow 232.9 points per game combined on average and only score 227.1, so the books are counting on Denver to run up the score, which they might.
But with the Nuggets on the second game of a back-to-back, scoring could be down early, so I like the under and for the Pistons to cover the spread, but to still lose of course.
Pistons vs. Nuggets injury update
Nothing has changed for the Pistons, who will still be missing Monte Morris and Isaiah Stewart. Alec Burks is listed as probable with a sore hamstring.
The Nuggets will be missing Julian Strawther and Vltako Cancar, but check the official injury report before game time for any late additions.
