Isaiah Stewart outplays Jalen Duren in preseason

Most fans are assuming that 20-year-old Jalen Duren will begin the season in the starting lineup for the Pistons, but given that Trajan Langdon didn’t draft either of these guys and JB Bickerstaff hasn’t coached them, this is far from a given.

What happens if a healthy Beef Stew looks fantastic in the preseason? What if he’s knocking down shots at a high rate, playing versatile defense and giving the Pistons an advantage on the offensive end? What happens if Duren struggles early on defense?

Duren has the most trade value of any of the Pistons’ bigs and they could consider moving him if they were able to get back draft assets and a third veteran center.

In this scenario, the Pistons enter the season with a Stewart/Reed/Vet big-man trio and a future first-round pick in their pocket.
