#4: Detroit Pistons

-Cade Cunningham

-Tobias Harris

-?

I’m putting the Pistons 4th even though I am not even sure who their third-best player is. This is on the strength (and hope) of Cade Cunningham, who is the best individual player on this list.

But after that, it is grim. If Tobias Harris is your 2nd-best player, you are not going to the playoffs, it is that simple.

I’d probably rank Ausar Thompson as the Pistons 3rd-best guy and he shot 18 percent from 3-point range last season. That leaves Simone Fontecchio? Jaden Ivey? Jalen Duren? Whoever you choose for that third spot is going to be a player with big flaws.

The Pistons have the quantity but not the quality yet when it comes to young players. Figuring out who the 2nd and 3rd-best guys are going to be behind Cunningham should be the focal point of this season.

I’d bet on Ausar taking over 2nd by the end of next season, but beyond that, Detroit still has a lot of question marks, as they do not have a “Big 3” and they may not have a “Big 1” if we’re being completely unbiased.
