4 Pistons records that could be broken this season
Most points in a single game: Cade Cunningham
Current record: 57, Jerry Stackhouse
Cade Cunningham is going to break the single-game scoring record for the Pistons at some point in his career. He already has a career-high of 43 points last season, and did it while only shooting five 3-point shots.
At some point, he’s going to have a game where he knocks down 8-of-10 from long range, gets to the free-throw line 10-12 times and stacks up a huge point total. The NBA as a whole has seen scoring skyrocket over the last two seasons, breaking the record for 50-point games in a season two years in a row. It’s gotten to the point where Malachi Flynn had a 50-point game for the Pistons.
It’s only a matter of time before someone in the 3-point era breaks the Pistons’ scoring record, as Stackhouse scored his 57 points making only four shots from long range. That person will be Cade Cunningham, and with better spacing around him, he’ll do it next season.
