Detroit Pistons trade Jalen Duren to the Memphis Grizzlies

In a recent article, Bleacher Report looked at some of the trades lottery teams could make if they land the number one pick.

In this hypothetical, it is the Memphis Grizzlies who buck the odds (7.5%) and land the number one pick in the draft, which would be typical given that they are already good and just had injuries. Their poor fans have had to endure an entire YEAR without the playoffs, I really feel for them, so this would be a just reward.

Unlike most teams in the lottery, the Grizzlies are ready to compete now, so might be compelled to trade the number one pick for a proven player who can help them get back to the playoffs next season, which is what happens in this trade:

Duren to Memphis for 1

The Grizzlies would get the rebounder they have needed since Steven Adams left in Jalen Duren and get to keep a pick in the top five, which is a pretty sweet deal for them.

Duren may not be worth the number one pick on his own, but with a top-5 pick added this is a no-brainer for the Grizzlies.

But what about the Detroit Pistons?
