It's been relatively quiet in the NBA leading up to the trade deadline, but that doesn't mean there won't be big moves, and who knows, some of them could even involve your Detroit Pistons.

Nearly every year there is a big trade that no one saw coming, including last year's trade deadline when the Brooklyn Nets moved both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant in two days.

There aren't players with that kind of pedigree being mentioned in NBA trade rumors so far, as the biggest names to emerge are Dejounte Murray, Kyle Kuzma and Zach LaVine.

But will there be some surprises at this year's trade deadline? Here are three star players in interesting circumstances with their current teams and whether the Detroit Pistons have a chance to be involved if they are traded.

NBA trade rumors: Star players who could be moved at the trade deadline and whether the Detroit Pistons could be involved

Tyler Herro

Now that the Heat have traded for Terry Rozier, there has been speculation that they will move Tyler Herro, especially since he's been struggling of late and is a questionable fit with Rozier.

Miami's window with Jimmy Butler won't be open forever, so they could move Herro in a win-now move to get a player or two that better fits their needs. Miami could use point guard and frontcourt depth, but would they really move on from Herro to get it?

Probably not, but don't rule out a move for the aforementioned Dejounte Murray.

Could the Detroit Pistons be involved?

Probably not. The Heat will be looking for win-now players and the Pistons don't have them outside of their two veterans Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks, which would not be enough to move the needle for Herro.

The Pistons' best trade asset aside from their 2024 draft pick is likely Jaden Ivey and it's hard to see how a trade centered around Ivey and Herro helps either team.
