Pascal Siakam: Could the Detroit Pistons take the risk?

Siakam is another guy who is a questionable fit with Cade Cunningham, as they both like to work in the mid-range, which is part of the reason the Raptors don't think he can work with Scottie Barnes.

Siakam is also pushing 30 and going to be a free agent, so it would be a massive risk on both fronts for the Pistons to trade for him. The Raptors aren't likely to give him away for nothing, but his contract situation takes away some of their leverage, so an extension in Toronto at the end of the season is not out of the question.

Does anyone want to give Siakam a max deal? He's determined to test free agency, so it's hard to see Detroit giving up the real assets it would take to get him when he could walk at the end of the season.

It would be smarter to just wait it out and see if they can sign him in free agency without giving up any assets. It wouldn't surprise me if Detroit went all in with a move like this, but it will likely depend on the market and the vibe they get from Pascal about his future intentions.
