The Detroit Pistons’ offseason hasn’t provided the sweeping changes to the roster some fans were hoping for, but Trajan Langdon made smart additions that will help the team improve in the short term without giving up any of their long-term assets.
The question now is what is left, as the Pistons still have needs and cap space to fill them, though Langdon may want to save some room for future moves.
If Langdon does sign another player in free agency, it will be interesting to see if he tries to fill their biggest need or goes strictly for a value and/or upside signing.
Let’s start with the Pistons’ cap space after the first and second waves of free agency.
How much cap space do the Detroit Pistons have?
According to Bobby Marks of ESPN (Subscription), the Pistons have around $14 million in cap space remaining to go along with an $8 million mid-level exception.
Either is more than enough to sign at least one player and there are a couple of interesting names still available.
Some of these players would fill a distinct need while others would be more of a luxury addition that tries to grab value for money.
Here are the free agents that fit those two categories.
