Kelly Oubre Jr.

Oubre Jr. continues to be one of the best value players in the league, as he signed at 2-year/$16 million deal to stay in Philly.

There is no guaranteeing he would have even considered Detroit as an option at that price, so it probably would have cost the Pistons more to lure him away from a team that should compete for the Eastern Conference next season.

Oubre Jr. is not as good as Harris, especially when it comes to shooting efficiency, but Detroit could have had him on a very cheap, short-term deal.

Oubre Jr. will give you most of what Harris does but at less than a third of the cost, so he could have been another short-term solution that would have cost far less and left Detroit with more cap space.

The Pistons could theoretically have had both Thompson and Oubre for less than the annual cost of Tobias Harris. If the Pistons were concerned about maximizing their wins next season, then this duo might have been a better choice for the cost.
