Grade the trade: Pistons send Magic a shooter in proposed deal
The Detroit Pistons were shaping up to have a busy NBA trade deadline, but the trade rumors have slowed in recent days.
It was starting to look as if the Pistons were going to trade for Zach LaVine, a move that divided the fanbase, as LaVine is a very good player but often injured and doesn't address the team's biggest needs.
That became a moot argument when it was announced that LaVine would undergo season-ending surgery, potentially taking the biggest name off the board for the Pistons.
Now that LaVine is off the table, you have to wonder if the Pistons are going to change their approach at the deadline. They've repeatedly said they don't want to be sellers, but if the right offer comes along, they will at least have to consider it.
Will the Detroit Pistons trade Bojan Bogdanovic?
I follow this team as closely as anyone, and I can honestly say I have no earthly idea what the Pistons are going to do regarding Bojan Bogdanovic.
The Pistons claim they aren't actively shopping him, but there will certainly be teams sniffing around a guy who is once again scoring over 20 per game on excellent shooting splits.
He can't defend like he used to, but on a good team, his weaknesses are far less of a liability than on the Pistons, where he is the starting small forward.
Bogdanovic still has value to Detroit, especially if they could push his offense to the bench, but every team has a price. The question is whether the trade we're going to break down meets it.
