Grade the trade: Pistons and Rockets cut proposed deal for Bojan Bogdanovic
Detroit Pistons trade of Bojan Bogdanovic to the Houston Rockets
Unlike the Detroit Pistons, the Houston Rockets tried to improve last offseason and have, as they are currently sitting in the 11th seed in the Western Conference.
They have to decide whether to try and make a move that could propel them into the play-in tournament or stand pat, continue to develop their young core, accept the strides they've made and improve their roster after the season.
In this trade by Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report, the Rockets do a bit of both:
In this trade, the Rockets give up an expiring contract, a deep bench player and three picks for Bogdanovic, so they not only improve now but potentially open up future cap space as well, the best of both worlds for the Rockets.
They can open up around $25 million in cap space by buying out Bogdanovic and ditching Landale, all for picks they don't need anyway while still chasing the play-in tournament this season.
But what about the Detroit Pistons? Is a deal like this the best they are going to get for Bojan Bogdanovic? And if so, should they take it?
