The Detroit Pistons hope to treat themselves to an early Xmas present by beating the Brooklyn Nets on the road tonight.

Both teams are suffering through losing streaks, as the Nets have lost five straight, which is amateur hour compared to the Pistons 25-game slump that is knocking on the door of NBA history.

A loss tonight would tie the longest single-season losing streak in NBA history, a scarlet letter the Pistons would rather avoid.

The Nets will be on the second game of a back-to-back after losing to the Nuggets last night, not that it matters, as the Pistons just lost handily to a Utah team in the same situation that was also missing three of its best players.

Of course, Detroit has been missing players too, but will they have their full roster back tonight?

The Detroit Pistons have yet to have their full complement of players this season and that won't change tonight, as Jalen Duren and Monte Morris are both still out.

Duren is making progress, as he's been participating in shoot-arounds and ramping up his activity, but the Pistons are going to be cautious with his ankles and not bring him back too early.

The Nets will be missing Ben Simmons and Lonnie Walker IV but otherwise will have their entire roster available in their quest to break their own streak while keeping the misery flowing for Detroit.

It's almost funny the way the Pistons have become a team with a target on their backs, as no one wants to be the one to lose to the worst team in the league and have their logo at the end of the streak.

Can Detroit bounce back from a demoralizing loss to the Jazz? Cade Cunningham looked broken after the last defeat and chatter around the team has turned completely negative in the aftermath.

It's a lot for a young team with a new coach to deal with, but that's exactly what they're going to have to do until they put a mark in the win column and end this frustrating streak.
