Is Jordan Poole playing tonight? Injury updates for Pistons vs. Wizards
The Detroit Pistons will take on the Washington Wizards tonight in a game I've been calling the Superbowl of Misery.
These have been two of the worst teams in the NBA over the last 15 seasons (much longer for Washington) and that will culminate tonight with one of them walking away with the worst record in the league to go along with a lengthy and ongoing losing streak.
The Pistons are one loss away from tying the franchise record for consecutive losses, so would like to finally take care of business at home tonight against the lowly Wizards to end this streak.
I'm sure the Wizards are thinking the same thing, so this won't be a gimme for Detroit, who has to approach Washington the same way they would a good team that is not tanking.
A loss tonight would be a new lowpoint for Detroit, especially if Washington is missing their best player, which they may be.
Is Jordan Poole playing tonight? Injury updates for the Pistons vs. Wizards
The Pistons will once again be missing Bojan Bogdanovic and Monte Morris, who have yet to play this season, as well as Joe Harris, who probably shouldn't be allowed to play even if he is healthy.
Getting Jalen Duren and Isaiah Livers back has helped the Pistons somewhat in the last two games, but not enough to get a win. We may see Monty Williams shuffle the starting five again tonight, as he has to find a way to open up some space for Cade Cunningham and breathe some life into this listless offense.
The Wizards will also be shorthanded, as they'll be missing Delon Wright and Ryan Rollins and Jordan Poole is listed as questionable with an ankle sprain. Given that Poole is a stat hunter who played his college ball in Michigan, I am sure he will make every effort to be on the court tonight to try and score 50 in front of his family and friends.
Check the official NBA injury report before the game for an update on Poole, but if I had to bet, I'd say he'll be in there.
