#3: Chicago Bulls trade Alex Caruso and the 11th pick to the Houston Rockets for the 3rd and 44th picks

Chicago Bulls select Nikola Topic

The Bulls need to pivot towards the future and will have to unload one of their veteran trade assets to do it.

In this case, they send out Alex Caruso, who will enter the season on an expiring deal, to the Rockets in exchange to move up eight spots in the draft and take their point guard of the future.

The Rockets get a player who can help them now in Caruso and still keep a lottery pick, even though they already have six very good young players on the roster.

The Bulls take a risk to pair Topic (who has had recent injury issues) with Coby White as the backcourt of the future, and the two complement each other wall. Topic is a big point guard who likes to get into the paint and create shots for himself and his teammates and is a fit regardless of what happens with Lonzo Ball.

The Bulls get one future piece while still trying to stay competitive in the Eastern Conference.
