The Detroit Pistons will almost certainly be busy at this year's NBA trade deadline, but whether they'll be buyers, sellers or both is anyone's guess.

They've been attached to names like Dejounte Murray (though those rumors are fading) and Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks have both been mentioned as possibilities for the New York Knicks.

You can never really trust information teams leak at this time of year, as a lot of it is posturing to seek better deals, cut the cost of a trade or up the price of a guy they are trying to move.

But according to the latest report from Marc Stein (SUBSCRIPTION), you can probably rule these three players out for the Detroit Pistons.

Bruce Brown

I've not heard the Pistons connected to Brown, who was recently traded to the Toronto Raptors. The Pistons gave Brown away for nothing, but he has a skillset they could use as a versatile defender who can knock down the occasional 3-pointer.

Brown is far better suited to be a key role player on a good team than one of the top-3 guys on a bad one, so his fit with the Pistons' timeline is questionable, as they are not currently a good team.

There is also Toronto's asking price, which is a future first-round pick and a quality player, which would be far more than the Pistons could give up for a guy in Brown's tier.

Brown was extremely unlikely anyway, but given the cost of acquiring him, you can strike him from your list if you were holding out hope of a reunion.
