The front office

Troy Weaver has been on the hot seat with fans for a while, but that hasn't necessarily transferred to owner Tom Gores, who didn't sound like a guy about to fire his GM in a recent Q&A.

"Change is coming. I’m just saying that in terms of Monty, Troy, all of that stuff … they will be in place, but I’m all over them. They’ll tell you that too. There’s a lot of accountability that needs to be held. There might be additions to staff and all of that stuff. What’s for sure is that change is coming. We’re not right, right now. We have to add and delete. We’re on it already. We will make changes. We will make them. We don’t know exactly what they’ll be yet."

Weaver seems safe for now, but what about the rest of the front office? Does Arn Tellum survive this? Ed Stefanski? Their fingerprints are on this too. Will anyone get fired?

I tend to doubt it at this point, as Tom Gores seems to have faith that Weaver is the guy to turn this around.

I don't expect any big shift in the front office, at least not until the end of the season, but as this losing streak continues, you do get a sense that a front-office cleanout is on the table at some point.
