The roster

With the trade deadline not until February, we may have to wait for the big roster changes that are very likely to happen.

The Pistons should clean house as much as possible, as they have seven players on expiring contracts anyway and may as well get anything they can for them.

If Detroit can cobble together a deal to get a league-average veteran power forward, center or point guard, they should. If they can make a splashy trade, do it. If you can't, just start unloading, as there is not much on this team worth salvaging.

I'd be dabbling in trades for Jaden Ivey to see what that market looks like. They should get Bogdanovic's name out there as much as possible to potentially start the bidding war they should have had last season.

All expiring deals should be on the table, basically, anyone not named Cade Cunningham, and all moves going forward should be to build a roster that complements him.

We may not see the changes in the coaching staff and front office that some fans are hoping for, but the roster will get shuffled one way or another.

We often hear that teams shouldn't make changes "just to make them" but this is a case where any change at all would be a step in the right direction.
