Detroit Pistons trade for Dejounte Murray

Before we get into whether Murray is even a fit with the Detroit Pistons, let's explore what a trade might look like.

It's hard to believe the Hawks are going to completely rebuild with Trae Young in his prime, so they are likely looking for some players as well as draft capital to replace what they splashed out to get Murray in the first place.

The Pistons can offer two players and a couple of picks, but would this be the best offer the Hawks receive?

Dejounte Ivey trade

In this trade, the Pistons give up a distant future first-rounder, one player who can help the Hawks now (Burks), a player with upside in Ivey and this year's 2nd-round pick coming from Washington, which should be near the top of the second round.

I'm not sure why the Hawks would want Ivey considering he's a shoot-first guard who doesn't defend and not a great fit with Trae Young. They may want Ausar Thompson instead, which should be a non-starter for Detroit given their complete lack of forwards who can play defense, but then again, Monty Williams isn't playing Ausar anyway.

Let's assume for a second that the Hawks liked this deal (big and likely incorrect assumption), should the Detroit Pistons be looking to give away a young talent like Ivey?
