5 Random Detroit Pistons' predictions for the 2nd half of the season
The Detroit Pistons will not fire anyone
Given that the Pistons haven't fired their GM or coach yet, it's hard to believe they will at the end of the season.
They already let Troy Weaver make one inconsequential trade that sent Marvin Bagley III and Isaiah Livers to the Washington Wizards, so it does appear that Weaver is going to get the summer and another wad of cap space to try and right the ship.
Monty Williams still has six years on his deal after this one, and if a 28-game losing streak doesn't get you fired, what will? It was hilarious to watch the Bucks fire Adrian Griffin, who was 2nd in the Eastern Conference, while Williams still has a job even though his team might not be able to beat some of the G-League squads.
I don't put this all on Williams and there's not much the Pistons can do here. He didn't construct the roster and does have a history of winning, so I agree that he deserves a chance to make it work with a better roster that makes some amount of sense.
We may see some lower-level executives get the toe but my bet is that most of the front office and coaching staff remains intact.
