1994: “I’ll make love to you” Boyz II Men

What a weird year. OJ Simpson was on trial and everyone was watching him try to pull a glove on his hand. Kurt Cobain killed himself and somehow Boyz II Men and Celine Dion were the ones topping the charts.

This was also the year the Pistons drafted Grant Hill 3rd in the NBA Draft. Hill was immediately anointed as the franchise savior and individually he didn’t disappoint, as he was a triple double machine who was the prototype for the modern playmaking wing. Hill would win Rookie of the Year and make the All-Star team five times in Detroit, which had some fans ready to make love to him, but most of his success was individual, as his teams didn’t win much and never made it out of the first round of the playoffs.

It wasn’t until Hill was traded that the Pistons took off again and started to win consistently.
