Malik Beasley

-Boston Celtics

-Any contender that needs shooting

We’ve not talked much about it, but Malik Beasley was a sneaky-good signing by Trajan Langdon.

The Pistons need shooting and he is one of the best high-volume 3-point shooters in the NBA.

But the most appealing thing about Beasley might be his contract, as he has just one year and $6 million, a number that is going to make him a very popular man among any contending teams that need shooting at next year’s trade deadline.

In fact, when you look at Langdon’s signings this summer, nearly all of them are guys who could be traded, particularly Beasley and Tim Hardaway Jr. The Pistons need draft assets and Langdon was smart to sign guys he can turn into draft picks without any long-term commitments.

Beasley is also young enough and has the right skillset that Detroit may consider signing him long term, but for now his name might as well be Malik “Expiring contract we’ll sell you for a late 1st-round or two protected second-round picks” Beasley.
