The Detroit Pistons sign OG Anunoby to a max deal

This is another long shot, as all indications are that OG Anunoby will stay in New York, though Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports recently wrote that it may not be set in stone.

Detroit has more cap space than anyone and can make Anunoby a max offer that New York may not want to touch. Would it be an overpay for a guy who is not an All-Star? Yes, probably.

But Anunoby is just entering his prime and would give the Pistons (along with Caruso and Ausar) three elite defenders on the perimeter, which would solve their defensive woes.

Both of these guys can shoot as well, so the Pistons would have floor spacing around Cade Cunningham along with one of the most versatile defensive lineups in the NBA.

-Alex Caruso/Jaden Ivey/Quentin Grimes

-Ausar Thompson/Simone Fontecchio

-OG Anunoby

-Jalen Duren/Isaiah Stewart

These are 10 players you can go to war with and would completely change the Pistons’ identity without giving up all of their assets.

Fans would love this team, and opposing offenses would finally have something to fear again in Detroit.

Are these things going to happen? Probably not, but it shows that the Pistons could be just a couple of moves away from being competitive if they are the right moves.
