Ace Bailey, 6’9 Wing/Forward, Rutgers

If there is anyone to challenge Cooper Flagg for the number one draft spot, it’s Ace Bailey. Bailey, who is headlining an extremely impressive recruiting class for the Scarlet Knights, has the tools and intangibles to be a star at the next level. At 6-foot-9, Ace has the size that Cooper has, but where he may fall behind defensively compared to Flagg, his offense is far better. A true three level scorer, Bailey has an insane pull-up creating game to pair with his great footwork.

Thanks to his length and athleticism, his transition game is elite as well. Finally, even if his defense isn’t as world-class as Cooper Flagg, that’s not to say he can’t get it done on that end. Bailey is expected to be a true two-way star that would fit perfectly in Detroit.

Bailey may not be Cooper Flagg, but he would fit in Detroit well as the heir apparent for Tobias Harris. He is the lengthy 3/4 that all teams are constantly looking for, and quite possibly provide even more offense that Harris currently offers, if he works on his shot selection and efficiency this college season. Obviously Cooper Flagg is the prized gem in this upcoming draft, but Ace Bailey might be just as impactful.
