Pistons’ opponents have league’s fourth-highest winning percentage

On paper, the Pistons have played one of the league’s toughest schedules. If you want to rationalize the 0-5 start, this is where I’d begin.

Obviously, this involves an extremely small sample size. So, don’t read too much into it. But, maybe, just maybe, there’s reason for hope in this chart (although, probably not).

Interestingly, no team has a winning record and has opponents that have combined for a winning record.

Another way to look at this is to exclude a team’s record from its opponents’ combined record. For example, the Pistons opponents are a combined 16-7. But because Detroit is 0-5, its opponents record is counted as 11-7 for this method. If this seems more relevant to you:
