Isiah Thomas: Tom Gores Flint area roots will make him a fantastic Pistons owner

I loved these comments from Isiah Thomas, given to Terry Foster of the Detroit News, on potential Pistons owner Tom Gores:

"“If Tom Gores is going to be the owner of the team and he’s from Flint, then he’s got it,” Thomas said with a laugh. “He understands. If he’s from Flint, Michigan, he’s going to be all right. You can say you are from Detroit and you can say you are from Flint. When you say you from Flint even the guy from Detroit gives you respect.”"

As I’ve pointed out, Gores is not a Flint native, he’s a Flint area native, so there’s a difference. But that’s a great quote from Thomas nonetheless.
