Karen Davidson to be minority owner of Pistons

I’m torn on the news that Karen Davidson, widow of late, great Pistons owner Bill Davidson, will keep a minority stake in the franchise after she officially sells it to Tom Gores later this month. At first, I thought it would be best to offer a clean break and cut all ties as the words Karen Davidson coincide with some of the most depressing years of Pistons basketball in the past 15 years. On the other hand, the words Davidson elicit a much more appreciative reaction. And as I am immensely happy that the Pistons will continue to honor “Mr. D.” on their jerseys, I think there is always going to be a place for the Davidson family as part of the Pistons.
