Keith Langlois of Pistons.com:

"It’s always subject to change based on the next game, but Van Gundy’s plan for now is to install Dinwiddie as Reggie Jackson’s backup and not alternate him with veteran John Lucas III based on matchups.“I think what we’ll do now is give Spencer the first shot every night and see where it goes,” Van Gundy said after Monday’s afternoon practice."

There was a legitimate debate whether the Pistons should use Spencer Dinwiddie or John Lucas III as backup point guard. Lucas was more ready to immediately contribute, but playing time could have accelerated Dinwiddie’s development.

Now, the Pistons are getting the best of both worlds. Dinwiddie didn’t get the job just handed to him. He earned it, especially with a big performance against the Wizards.

There’s no more balancing act. The Pistons can use their best and most-promising backup point guard at once. Both are Dinwiddie.
