David Mayo of MLive:

"Andre Drummond has cleared NBA post-concussion protocol and the Detroit Pistons center is expected to play Tuesday against the Memphis Grizzlies here."

Drummond said he he took a few shots to the head in the Pistons’ loss to the Jazz on Saturday, with this one standing out:

Drummond, via Mayo:

"“That’s when I started feeling it,” Drummond said. “Then, when I came out, and my adrenaline wore off, that’s when I really started feeling it. I was just real sensitive to the light. When I sat on the bench, I had to cover my face for a second to really try to compose myself.”"

Thankfully, the setback isn’t as bad as it appeared. Had Drummond suffered a concussion, at this point, it could have ended his season.

The Pistons’ priority should be strengthening their lottery position, and losing Drummond could have helped there. But developing him remains important, and Stan Van Gundy can continue doing that with only minimal risk of climbing the standings.
