With another week in the books for the 2015-16 NBA season, one constant remains: The Golden State Warriors are thus far untouchable, and the rest of the NBA is playing catch-up.

The season is almost a month old, and the Golden State Warriors have yet to lose a game. Thanks to the effort of their newly coined Death Lineup, the small-ball end-of game five-man unit for the ages, the Warriors are 16-0 and have set the NBA record for the best start to a season.

In other news out west, the stunningly bad 5-9 Houston Rockets have fired head coach Kevin McHale, replacing him with assistant coach J.B. Bickerstaff. The Rockets’ ownership and front office decided that McHale had lost the locker room and that a move needed to be made, and the jury is out on just how that is going to work out at this point.

The New Orleans Pelicans and Brooklyn Nets have shown signs of life, with the Pelicans winning the last two games (one of which was against the San Antonio Spurs) and the Nets challenging the Warriors and Hornets, and beating the Boston Celtics in the second half of a home-and-home series.

Mind you, the Celtics beat the Nets 120-95 in the first half of the series, but nobody will complain about a win in Brooklyn.

Aside from the very top of the league, where Golden State, the Spurs and the Cleveland Cavaliers are the cream of the crop, and the bottom of the league where the Philadelphia 76ers, the Nets, and the Los Angeles Lakers firmly dwell, the NBA is surprisingly wide open at the one-month mark.

Let’s take a look at where how the league lines up in this week’s Piston Powered NBA Power Rankings.
