Detroit Pistons submit bid for 2020 or 2021 All Star game

The Detroit Pistons have officially bid to host either the 2020 or 2021 NBA All Star game at Little Caesars Arena, which opens this year.
After the Detroit Pistons regular season came to an end, the organization made it clear they intended to submit a bid to host a future NBA All Star game. Owner Tom Gores and Palace Sports and Entertainment vice chairman Arn Tellem made a presentation in New York, updating the league’s board of governors on the progress of the construction of Little Caesars Arena in the Midtown Detroit area at Woodward and I-75.
On Friday, the Pistons made it official and submitted a bid to the league for either the 2020 or 2021 NBA All Star game.
Pistons point guard Reggie Jackson spoke with the Detroit Free Press about the bid:
"“It will be great for the outlook of the city to definitely get back up there in relevance as one of the best sports towns in America,” Pistons guard Reggie Jackson told the Free Press on Friday. “It will be fabulous.”"
Tom Gores also spoke with the Freep:
"“Detroit is an iconic sports town with some of the most passionate basketball fans in the world,” Pistons owner Tom Gores said in a news release. “There is also a spirit of renewal and an energy in Detroit right now that is unlike anywhere in the country. I want the league and all fans of the NBA to be part of this incredible turnaround story.”"
The Detroit Pistons have twice previous hosted the NBA All Star game, first in 1959 at Olympia, and second at the Pontiac Silverdome in 1989.

There is currently no timetable for a decision on the host for either the 2020 or 2021 All Star game.
