The Detroit Pistons will miss Marcus Morris, particularly Stan Van Gundy who said that this was the toughest deal he’s had to make with the team.

The Detroit Pistons and Stan Van Gundy have added Avery Bradley to the roster via the Boston Celtics at the expense of Marcus Morris.

We all knew that Morris was important to the team, and a Van Gundy favorite, but I don’t think any of us really had any idea just how important Morris was to Van Gundy.

My wife’s favorite player on the Pistons was Marcus Morris, and mine was Kentavious Caldwell-Pope so this has been a rough week for us too, Stan.

While losing Morris is tough, I am excited for the opportunity it presents for the young players in Stanley Johnson and Henry Ellenson, assuming more deals aren’t on the horizon.

I am also excited to see what Avery Bradley can bring to the team, who is farther along than Caldwell-Pope was last season on both ends of the floor.

Next: Pistons re-sign Reggie Bullock

Losing gritty and hard nose players like Morris is tough to swallow, but I think the move was worth it, particularly if the Pistons are able to sign Bradley long-term.
