Talks between Nets, Pistons back on

The reports of the demise of the proposed megatrade between the Pistons, Nets and Nuggets that would ship Carmelo Anthony to the Nets along with Chauncey Billups, Richard Hamilton and others, appear to be greatly exaggerated.

According to a tweet from Mlive’s Chris Iott, the Pistons and Nets have resumed talks about a possible deal. Earlier it was reported that Detroit had balked about handing over this year’s first-round pick to the Nets in exchange for shedding themselves of Richard Hamilton’s salary and getting back the expiring contract of Troy Murphy and young center Johan Petro.

It is unknown if the Pistons have changed their minds about giving up the first-rounder or if an alternative scenario is being discussed.
