– This prediction is entirely based on my gut instinct that Derrick Rose will be as good, or better than before his injury. We have to keep in mind too, when Rose was healthy, he beat out two time reigning NBA MVP LeBron James as MVP in 2011. During that campaign he averaged 25 points and 8 assists a game. Those statistics, along with the Bulls regular season success pushed Rose to become the youngest NBA MVP in NBA History. Quite the feet for a 23 year old point guard out of the University of Memphis.

Along with Rose, the Bulls have some familiar faces holding down the position when Rose comes out of games. Longtime Chicago Bull Kirk Hinrich is projected as Rose’s main backup, but may see his minutes decline in favor of young guard Marquis Teague who showed the Bulls coaching staff that he has the potential to be a rotation player in Chicago. Hinrich struggled with his shooting the past season, so the Bulls hope to see him bounce back as the Bulls try to contend for an NBA Championship during the upcoming season.

There are reasons to smile for Bulls fans across the Nation!

(Author’s Note: Second part of this five part series will focus on the Shooting Guard position within the Central Division)
